Key costs and differences before you enroll
Evidence-based plan details, checked October 10, 2026. Provider agreements and individual eligibility control.
$5 Basic reports to all three
Basic's $750 restricted core account furnishes to Experian, Equifax and TransUnion. Basic includes a weekly credit report; monthly three-bureau reports and monitoring come with Premium and Ultimate.
Rent and utilities differ
Qualifying rent goes to Equifax and TransUnion even on Basic. Eligible bills on Premium/Ultimate go to TransUnion only.
Kikoff-only tradeline
A Kikoff tradeline can only be used for Kikoff products and services. New Kikoff secured-card signups have ended.
Who It May Be Best For
Consumers who can maintain a $5 monthly obligation for restricted-use revolving payment history, especially if eligible rent verification is useful. Higher tiers only make sense when added monitoring, eligible bills or insurance justify their expense.
Who May Want Another Option
People needing withdrawable cash, a card for grocery purchases, held savings returned at the end, or guaranteed credit results should choose a product aligned with that goal. Existing payment hardship is a reason to avoid additional obligations.
How It Works
Kikoff creates a restricted revolving Credit Account for purchases of Kikoff's own services and furnishes account activity to Experian, Equifax and TransUnion on all three paid tiers, including Basic. The tradeline can only be used for Kikoff products and services. Basic includes eligible rent reporting to Equifax and TransUnion and a weekly credit report; Premium/Ultimate add monthly three-bureau credit reports and monitoring, plus qualifying bill reporting to TransUnion. New Kikoff secured-card applications are closed.
Pricing and Fees
Basic $5/month advertises a $750 Kikoff tradeline; Premium $20/month advertises $2,500; Ultimate $35/month advertises $3,500. Each tier costs $15/month more than the one below it. Plans are billed monthly and members can cancel anytime; they are not 12-month contracts. Optional qualifying prior-rent lookback is $50, with up to 24 verified months.
Credit Bureau Reporting
The CORE restricted credit account furnishes to Experian, Equifax and TransUnion on Basic, Premium and Ultimate. That does NOT mean every plan includes three-bureau report/score MONITORING. Basic includes a weekly credit report; Premium and Ultimate add monthly three-bureau credit reports and monitoring. Eligible RENT is separate, reported to Equifax and TransUnion. Eligible phone/utility BILLS under Premium/Ultimate are reported to TransUnion only. Exact first report processing varies and is not guaranteed.
Eligibility
Kikoff generally requires adult U.S. identity/residency, eligible identification/SSN or TIN, a U.S. address, SMS contact and a usable payment method. No hard credit inquiry is advertised for the core account, but identity checks and eligibility apply. Rent requires a verified lease and bank-linked payments; bill reporting needs qualifying direct payments from the consumer's own account.
Important Limitations
A Kikoff tradeline can only be used for Kikoff products and services. Monthly plan fees pay for services and are not savings returned later. Payment failure can cause late marks or a charge-off despite no advertised late fee. Autopay is opt-in on all plans. Plans are billed monthly and members can cancel anytime. A 45-day guarantee is conditional. The old secured card is unavailable for new applicants and existing cards are scheduled to stop working November 17, 2026.
Alternatives
Self's held-proceeds installment CBA has returned principal but interest/costs; Self's eligible free rent reporting may be enough for rent-only needs. Kovo is a financed service purchase with installment furnishing and no cash return. Customers looking for everyday card purchases should compare currently available secured cards rather than Kikoff's tradeline.
Final Summary
Kikoff Basic can add restricted-use revolving history for $5 monthly with three-bureau core account furnishing and eligible rent reporting. Premium and Ultimate buy extra tools, NOT exclusive access to three-bureau core furnishing. Costs and features vary by plan; avoid recommending the retired secured card or promising credit results.
Pros
- $5/month Basic plan with core account reporting to Experian, Equifax and TransUnion
- Eligible rent reporting to Equifax and TransUnion available even on Basic
- Premium and Ultimate add monthly three-bureau credit reports, monitoring and eligible TU bill reporting
- No advertised hard inquiry for initial core Credit Account
- Three plans give a choice of budget and optional added protections
Cons
- The advertised $750–$3,500 Kikoff tradeline only works for Kikoff products and services
- Higher tiers cost $15/month more at each step
- Credit Account delinquency can harm credit even if some rent/bill reporting is positive-only
- Kikoff secured card no longer accepts new applications
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Kikoff Basic furnish to all three credit bureaus?
Yes. Kikoff's core Credit Account on the $5 Basic plan reports to Experian, Equifax and TransUnion. Premium is for extra benefits, not a prerequisite for basic three-bureau furnishing.
Can I use the $750 Basic tradeline anywhere?
No. The Kikoff tradeline is intended for financing Kikoff products and services, like your monthly Kikoff plan.
Does Basic include rent reporting?
Yes. Rent reporting is included on all plans, including Basic. Qualifying rent payments may go to Equifax and TransUnion after verification. Older history can require a $50 optional add-on.
Are bills reported to all three bureaus?
No. Eligible phone/utility payments on qualifying higher tiers are currently reported to TransUnion, not all three.
Can I still apply for Kikoff's secured card?
No. New applications have been discontinued and the published schedule ends existing card purchases November 17, 2026.
Is Kikoff a 12-month contract?
No. Kikoff plans are billed monthly and members can cancel anytime. Autopay is opt-in on all plans.
